Living in the country allows freedom of movement

DSCF2054 Free range chickens in my yard; eggs $2/dozen; enjoyment priceless. The blonde is named for my friend Joyce; the largest redhead is Deni, for my friend Denise and the smallish redhead is Rebecca.

Mike and I attended the Memorial Day service held within the grounds of the old Hermann Cemetery.  The traditional site location is by the grave of a Swiss born Hermann resident who died in WWI at the age of 24 and whose body wasn’t returned to Hermann for 3 years.  The service is respectful and brought tears to a few eyes, mine included.  It’s good to be reminded of the freedoms we enjoy in this country; free range is always better.
